OVER 2,000 RUNNERS SHOW UP FOR THE BENEFIT OF SCHOLARS AT DZMM’S “TAKBO PARA SA PAMILYANG PILIPINO 2016”

Over 2,000 racers joined and partook of the festivities at the recent DZMM Takbo 2016 that happened last Sunday (May 29) at the Quirino Grand stand in Manila and supported the advocacies of DZMM, the official AM radio station of ABS-CBN, the leading media and entertainment company in the country, in helping the victims of the places struck by calamities such as Typhoons Yolanda, Sendong and monsoon rains.

Winners in the Men’s 3k division were Jeffrey Gozo (1^st; 00:10:44), Bieneser Mission (2^nd; 00:11:31), and Christopher Pencio (3^rd; 00:12:17). For the 5k, they were ruled by Rostum Nava (1^st; 00:17:24), John Rey Onifa (2^nd; 00:17:29), and Evelou Abutas (3^rd; 00:17:33). Meanwhile, Jujet De Asis (1^st; 00:36:30), Roy Dacutanan (2^nd; 00:39:34), and Joed Alegre (3^rd; 00:40:59) were the fastest runners in the 10k division. Over at the 21k division, Elphis Kiptarus (1^st; 01:14:19), Vincent Osorio (2^nd; 01:15:24), and Rene John Ellio (3^rd; 01:23:37) came out of the grueling long-distance run.

For the women’s division, the winners were Lovely Gemeroy (1^st; 00:12:47), Marisol Amarga (2^nd; 00:12:49), May Oro (3^rd; 00:13:58) in the 3k category. Joneza Mae Sustepuedo (T-1^st; 00:22:26), Joida Dagnang (T-1^st; 00:22:26), and Mercy Herrera (2^nd; 00:27:07) beat everybody to the finish line in the 5k category. For the 10k race, Janet Lumidao (1^st; 00:46:09), Catherine Britol (2^nd; 00:47:39), and Remy Caasi (3^rd; 00:56:18) triumphed, while Maricar Camacho (1^st; 01:39:09), Edna Agoo (2^nd; 01:53:15), and Sherry Aguila (3^rd; 01:59:54), led runners in the 21k category.

“It’s Showtime” host Karylle Yuzon, with rocker husband Yael Yuzon, and Nikki Valdez led the celebrities at the 17th edition of the DZMM Takbo, that also had ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes and broadcast journalists Niña Corpuz and Jorge Cariño and DZMM anchors and Radyo Patrol reporters run in one of the race categories, which included 3k, 5k, 10k, and 21k. Winnie Cordero and Ahwel Paz hosted the program.

Co-organized by RunRio, the run was for the benefit of young Filipinos who were affected by typhoons that hit the nation such as Ondoy, Habagat, and Sendong. DZMM believes that every member of the Filipino family is a winner through education.

Mahigit 2,000 mananakbo ang nakilahok sa DZMM “Takbo Para sa Pamilyang Pilipino 2016” noong Linggo (May 29) sa Quirino Grandstand, Lungsod ng Maynila upang suportahan ang adbokasiya ng DZMM, ang opisyal na himpilan sa radyo ng ABS-CBN, para sa mga batang nasalanta ng mga bagyong Yolanda at Sendong at ng habagat.

Nanaig sa Men’s 3k division sina Jeffrey Gozo (1^st; 00:10:44), Bieneser Mission (2^nd; 00:11:31), at Christopher Pencio (3^rd; 00:12:17), samantalang wagi naman sa 5k, sina Rostum Nava (1^st; 00:17:24), John Rey Onifa (2^nd; 00:17:29), at Evelou Abutas (3^rd; 00:17:33). Sina Jujet De Asis (1^st; 00:36:30), Roy Dacutanan (2^nd; 00:39:34), at Joed Alegre (3^rd; 00:40:59) naman ang nanguna sa 10k division, habang sina Elphis Kiptarus (1^st; 01:14:19), Vincent Osorio (2^nd; 01:15:24), at Rene John Ellio (3^rd; 01:23:37) ang nag-hari sa 21k division.

Dinagsa rin ng mga kilalang personalidad ang taunang fun run kabilang na sina “It’s Showtime” host Karylle Yuzon at asawang band vocalist na si Yael Yuzon, at si Nikki Valdez. Naroon din sa  takbuhan si  ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes at broadcast journalists Niña Corpuz at Jorge Cariño, pati DZMM anchors at Radyo Patrol reporters. Sina Winnie Cordero at Ahwel Paz ang nag-host ng programa.
